The lights are on
European Wii U owners are getting a pay-by-the-hour Karaoke app on October 4.
The game will feature 1,500 songs giving singers access to the music with an atypical model. Players will be able to purchase one-hour, 24-hour, and 30-day tickets for £1.79, £4.49, or £13.49 respectively.
No word on when or if Wii Karaoke U will be coming to North America.
Our TakeThe model seems perfect for a Karaoke game. If you're holding a party, all you need is a few hours to enjoy some discordant singing from your friends. It would be nice to see it come to North America in the future.

I don't know, I still prefer to buy my games instead of renting them.
I want it! >:O
I'll pass, even if it does come here to NA
How about $20 for life?
Wii U's killer app
Yes, yet another game that will allow me to show off my excellent singing talent.
I'm assuming with the screen shot it's already definitely a Japanese thing, but I never expected Karaoke to be big enough in Europe for it to go to that market before North America. Do care, not really, although that pricing is a little weird... I still find it funny that people still pay for Karaoke.
I do not care for Karaoke, nor do I find that pricing model particularly attractive. But I can see the advantage of having the GamePad with lyrics scrolling on it.
Interesting thought. Music apps and games should do just fine at home on Wii U.
WOW just what no one asked for!
next gen gaming at its finest...
