The lights are on
Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma has been an integral part of the Zelda franchise since Ocarina of Time. Aonuma was recently asked what the chances of seeing a remake Majora's Mask might be, and his response was ambiguous.
In an interview with IGN, Aonuma laughed, and asked that IGN tell readers he laughed. When pressed, Aonuma offered no clarification. "It’s really up to them. If they want to interpret my laughter as, ‘yeah, we’re making it’ or ‘no, we’re not,’ I guess that’s really up to them,” Aonuma said.
Since his work on Ocarina of Time, Aonuma went on to direct Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, but Majora's Mask was the first game that he was officially credited as director.
Our TakeAonuma's response is pretty much perfect considering the mysterious nature and themes of Majora's Mask. Initially, when I first began playing Majora's Mask back in 2000, I didn't like the repeating day mechanic, but as I played more, and especially as I have been able to reflect on the game over the years, I have grown to love the game. I would love to see an update to the game, especially on something like the 3DS. I choose to to interpret Aonuma's laughter as an indication that a remake is happening, mostly because I like the idea of revisiting the game so much.

Just like the happy mask salesman... you don't know if his laughter entails that he is pleased, or if he is about to throttle you in anger... o.O
do it do it do it
I hope this happens.
I would be happy if they decided to do a remake like Ocarina of Time. The 3DS version of OoT is by far my favorite thanks not only to the impressive new graphics, but also because it controls extremely well.
I've never beaten Majora's Mask, but if it turned out anything like OoT, I would be very excited to finally give it a shot.
Been waiting for a Majora's Mask remake since the Ocarina of Time Remake was announced. I really hope we see some concrete news on this soon.
NO ANY GAME BUT THAT IT WAS A PAIN TO BEAT THE FIRST TIME!!! I TOOK THE GAME AND TROW IT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC IT PISSED ME OFF THAT MUCH!! AND YES I LOVE THE ZELDA GAMES ALL BUT THAT ONE!!! COLLECTING THE MASKS HELL NO NOT AGAIN
Nintendo needs to focus their energies on new games, 3rd party contracts, and original experiences that define their consoles. Not remakes. Remakes suck.
I would get it
This game was just all around good. It was new, inventive, and can be easily classified as a stand alone game with it's core time system. It was basically the entire premise of the movie Source Code.
I want this to happen so bad. That game is amazing.
I hope so I would love to play it on 3ds, I get it in a heart beat
