The lights are on
Sony's policy on allowing external video-capture devices is still unknown, which has us asking: Does it affect you?
User habits have changed since the current generation of gaming hardware was released, and the next generation reflects that. Both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 allow users to capture and share game footage with people, though in the PS4's case that comes with a caveat. We're still waiting to hear more on Sony's stance on whether the console will support the external capture devices that current game streamers use. News Editor Mike Futter wrote an opinion piece this morning explaining why he thinks it's important. For this discussion, let's back up a little further.
Do you watch gaming videos on YouTube or similar streaming services? When you're stuck on a puzzle or a boss fight, do you fire up a walkthrough video to find a solution? Do you watch let's play videos for entertainment? [Shameless plug: Watch ours!] Or, on the other side of the spectrum, do you think games are for playing and not for watching? Does the idea of sitting idle while another person plays a game bore you to tears?

Am I the only person who watches WoodysGamertag? PKA is awesome.
I watch for fun, for ideas, for glitches, its just the next phase for gamers. Five years from now there will be some new medium we have moved into gaming. I do not expect everyone to be on board, but c'mon, you know minecraft was made for youtube!
I love the gaming video's. I watch for entertainment and walkthroughs. I myself have made a couple of gaming videos ( just for entertainment).
Sure I enjoy watching others play , but only for a short time. I like to see their playing skills and maybe I could use them to get through a hard situation.
There are so many reasons I watch gaming videos: listening to humorous "trash talk," hearing opinions of the best character setup, seeing how someone else approached a key part in a level, or the best places to camp... Uh, you know, so I can be on the look out for people who do. There are some days where I spend more time watching videos about gaming than I do actually playing them myself.
Yes I watch gameplay videos almost daily. This is generally to get some idea of what I will be interested in the new games that are coming out
I mainly watch my gameplay vids on the awesome Rev3games as well as the equally awesome group on the Sourcefed channels on you tube
Now if I watch a game video it is usually to find a certain item for an achievement if I am not sure of the location. I use to watch Red v. Blue, short Halo clips, and MLG videos but not too much anymore.
