The lights are on
In a new, spoiler-free developer diary, the cast and crew behind Naughty Dog's The Last of Us come together to explore the protagonists of the story. Joel and Ellie are more than characters in a game, they are embodiments of a world gone by and an unvarnished life in a devastated society respectively.
The developer diary below contains concept art, interviews with voice actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, and a deeper understanding of how the story was crafted. You can also read our review of The Last of Us.
Our TakeThe Last of Us is more than just a tense survival experience, it's an exploration of humanity. Joel and Ellie represent the old and the new, and watching the two of them work out their relationship is more compelling than if either had existed alone.
There are moments toward the end of the game that are more satisfying because of the path walked by the duo throughout the game. Regardless of your feeling on the conclusion, it's hard to argue that the path to the end isn't worth treading.

I love these developer diaries, I was kinda disappointed that ND didn't included them in the game disc like with Uncharted 2.
Anyway, The last of us, game of the year for sure!
Joel & Ellie were amazing characters,Joel would do anything to save Ellie cause she made him actually want to live after what happened in the beginning of the game.
Loved seeing their characters come together and pull apart at certain times, but still stick it out in order to survive.
Such an amazing game. And Easily my game of the generation so far.
