Miiverse Update Brings Wii U Social Network Closer To Twitter

by Kyle Hilliard on Sep 11, 2013 at 05:03 AM

The Miiverse received an update recently that allows Wii U users to post messages to their feed, without the need to post in a specific community.

In the past, you could only post messages to certain communities, and if you were posting unrelated content to the Super Luigi U community that had nothing to do with Luigi, for example, your post had a chance of getting pulled down. Now you can post drawings or up to 200 characters to your feed, and anyone who follows you will be able to see it. IT makes the Miiverse act a little more lie Twitter now, and will allow you to send messages to friends about anything.

Our Take
The Miiverse is one of the Wii U's most underrated features. It's always been a little bit like Twitter, but one devoted entirely to video games with the option to easily post screenshots. I have enjoyed my time posting content to it and getting reactions, and this new update will allow the general conversation to expand. It will also prevent silly things like this from happening.
