Nintendo Drops Retail Prices Of Best-Selling Wii Titles
Nintendo announced today that it is dropping the retail price of three of its top Wii games to $29.99.
The price goes in effect today for Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Wii Sports Resort. According to the press release, U.S. sales to date for these titles are 2.7 million (Galaxy 2), 9.4 million (New Super Mario), and 7 million (Wii Sports Resort).
Our Take:
If you have a Wii and haven't played Galaxy 2 or New Super
Mario Bros. Wii, I'd highly suggest you do so, especially at these prices. Wii
Sports Resort isn't my thing, but it's definitely more attractive at $30. I'm a
little surprised at these sales figures; I didn't know that Galaxy's sales
tailed behind the New Super Mario Bros' so significantly. It's a shame; I
wonder if that means we won't see another Galaxy?
