The lights are on
It turns out all you need to create an impressive real-life Mirror's Edge video is a head-mounted camera, some red shoes, and a red glove. It's also important that you be a very skilled parkour runner.
The video, which you can see below, comes from YouTube user Ampisound, a channel specializing in videos about parkour and free running. It's a stunning video that makes me want to run outside and jump on some roofs. Either that, or play some Mirror's Edge. Whatever the case, it makes the incalculable wait for Mirror's Edge 2 that much more difficult to bear.
The runner whose face we never see in the video is Neil Cointet, and the video was directed by Scott Bass. Ampisound says that if this video does well, it has plans to create a follow-up.
For more impressive video game parkour (which has become surprisingly popular lately) head here for Assassin's Creed and here for Luigi.

That is so epic.
I am not a huge fan of the game even though I really tried to be. I played about halfway through, but it took me about four sessions of play which all ended because I was getting motion sickness from it. After the same results four times, I traded it in. x_x
Needs more sliding.
Awesome video. Wouldn't try that even if I knew what I was doing.
I've always wanted to learn parkour, but even just watching that gave me a bit of vertigo. I could never do it, but it's so incredible and awesome. A huge amount of respect to anyone that can do it!
That looks fun.
Pretty impressive. It looks scary though.
I was hoping it'd be all white and things would glow red when you could jump on them, but it doesn't matter, because holy *** that was terrifying. I dont't even have a fear of heights and I was dying on my couch. Much respect to these guys though
I actually said Whooooaaa a couple of times to my computer screen while I watched that. I'd try that but I have a bad knee from running around in Skyrim...
this is some good image stabilization lol
Love these vids.
It sucks that Parkour is only available in the city. Out in the countryside you could climb onto your old house and fall through the roof.
Excellent video!! I love Parkour, it looks like a fun sport.
Cool video!! I really liked that song!!
One slip-up there and this could've been a snuff film pretty damn quick.
