The lights are on
Creative Assembly has heard the cries of gamers experiencing hardware conflicts with Total War: Rome II. A patch is coming later this week.
The developer has promised fixes for hardware-related crashing and a number of performance upgrades. Full patch notes will be available on Friday.
The official support forums also include suggestions on optimizing settings, as well as other fixes.
Our TakeIt's unfortunate that many have encountered significant problems running Total War: Rome II as it was released. Thankfully, the turnaround time on the patch seems to be quick, and those unable to conquer the ancient world will be able to do so this weekend once the fix is live.

Oh thank god....
Good. I've had issues with the game myself.
I luckily haven't had issues. I was accepting the chance that it would happen, I never got to enjoy Empire due to issues. In all honesty though I've put in 18 hours on Rome and not a single problem. I feel for those that cant play though.
I can afford to wait, after all, this game is amazing.
I"ve put about 10 hours in to the game and it only froze up on me once. Thats the only problem i've had.
If anyone here is a fan of the Total War series you should definitely check out Total War Center. I spend a lot of time over there (mostly doing non-TW related stuff) and it's got plenty of stuff, whether it be strategy guides, mods for the various games, or discussion threads. Just stay away from the D&D; it's a scary place. :P
I had an issue on the prolog only. I got thru the first one but on the second after setting up an ambush for another enemy my ally ambush didn't succeed and that is when it just stopped going forward with the tutorial prolog. I was bummed but just started up the campaign and have had no problems since.
Have not had any issues myself, my friend is having a hell of a time though.
