The lights are on
Microsoft has finally announced a piece of information we've been waiting for since the Xbox One was first revealed in May. We've known the console is arriving in November, but now we have an exact date. This morning, Microsoft confirmed that the Xbox One will be available in the United States, Canada, and 11 other countries on November 22, 2013. At that point, all major third-party, next generation titles planned for this fall will be ready and available. This includes Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, and Skylanders: Swap Force.
First party launch titles include, Forza 5, Killer Instinct, Lococycle, and Ryse: Son of Rome. Dead Rising 3 from Capcom is also anticipated on day one. The Xbox One will be available for $499.99.
[Source: Xbox Wire]Our TakeThis is very surprising. Microsoft will be launching one week after the PlayStation 4, instead of earlier as many (including me) suspected. The company revealed yesterday that it had bumped up the CPU speed and was well into production, making the late launch date even more unexpected. It's great to finally have a release date, but ceding the timing advantage to Sony (in North America, but not Europe) makes me wonder what's going on over at Microsoft.

I would just like to point out that in a GI article from yesterday (the one about Xbox upping the GHz and starting production) I called that we would be getting a release date today. Oh and it's nice to finally have a release date!
Gives me a few extra weeks to play diablo
I KNEW IT! Eight years ago they launched on that exact same day; it was bound to be that same date this year given Sony is also launching on a Friday but a week before it.
8 days after my birthday. It would have been nice to have it for Extra Life, but I'll be too happy playing it to care.
Well this is the most lack luster thing ever.
Wow, they're releasing a week after Sony? After how their whole launch has been handled I have to say, "Way to epic fail Microsoft"!
Its coming out the same day the 360 was released in 2005.
Doesn't make a bit of difference if they release before or after Sony. Most consoles have been pre-ordered for months now. The real story will start mid December.
if you're getting the xbox one, you can easily wait just one week. I really don't think that people who were planning on getting xbox one aren't gonna get it because they couldn't wait a week.
After? I am speechless. AFTER!
Who would expect a non-finished console to come out before a finished one. GI staffers are funny.
