The lights are on
Microsoft has finally announced a piece of information we've been waiting for since the Xbox One was first revealed in May. We've known the console is arriving in November, but now we have an exact date. This morning, Microsoft confirmed that the Xbox One will be available in the United States, Canada, and 11 other countries on November 22, 2013. At that point, all major third-party, next generation titles planned for this fall will be ready and available. This includes Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, and Skylanders: Swap Force.
First party launch titles include, Forza 5, Killer Instinct, Lococycle, and Ryse: Son of Rome. Dead Rising 3 from Capcom is also anticipated on day one. The Xbox One will be available for $499.99.
[Source: Xbox Wire]Our TakeThis is very surprising. Microsoft will be launching one week after the PlayStation 4, instead of earlier as many (including me) suspected. The company revealed yesterday that it had bumped up the CPU speed and was well into production, making the late launch date even more unexpected. It's great to finally have a release date, but ceding the timing advantage to Sony (in North America, but not Europe) makes me wonder what's going on over at Microsoft.

Doesn't matter when either console comes out. I never ever buy new consoles day 1, week 1, or even month 1. I look forward to forum posts filled with complaints post launch.
Well, thanks for clearing that up finalmente.
NIce! I wish I wasn't afraid to buy a Microsoft console.
Can't predict too much with absolute certainty, but I believe that this is a big mistake. Honestly, Microsoft needs as much hype as it can get, and doing their big show-off after Sony's, they'll just be forgotten by too many gamers. It seemed like they made every mistake possible with this console in terms of PR and advertisement, and it's a shame given my own family's ties with MS. Oh well, we'll see how the X-Box One actually runs as a console. If the PS4 had the 360's initial 50% user failure rate, that'd be the only thing stopping Sony's landslide of gamer paloozah
It's only by a couple days. I really thought that they would be out first too though.
YES! Right at the beginning of my vacation ensuring I will have plenty of time to spend with it! I cannot wait for the Xbox One... the only downside is Stick of Truth releases the Tuesday before giving me just enough time to really get into that game.
Once again it's on my wife's birthday. Oh boy...
I'm a Playstation guy so it's up to my girlfriend (she has the R2D2 360) as to whether or not an X-Box One ends up in our home.
that release date means that they better make sure they manufacture enough consoles because they will be flying of the shelves because of the holidays and running out of stock would turn people off to the competition
......yawn. I'll be enjoying my PS4. This whole 'day one' thing is the biggest ploy, just isn't catching my fancy per-say.
I just hope Amazon.ca won't deliver it the week after. Got Ghost Prestige edition, Battlefield 4 and Forza 5 limited pre-ordered and payed for at the gamestop close to where I live but I couldn't pre-order the console there. I'm off on that day so I'll pick up the games early and watch for my delivery after.
Xbox isn't worried. One week doesn't make a difference out of the ENTIRE console generation. It'll be exclusives and fanboys that decide which sells more.
