The Last Of Us Free Update Includes New Multiplayer Mode

by Matthew Kato on Aug 28, 2013 at 10:39 AM

The story behind Naughty Dog's The Last of Us has rightfully gotten plenty of attention, but the developer is honing the game's multiplayer component with an upcoming free update that includes a new multiplayer mode.

In Interrogation, rival factions endeavor to steal the contents of the opponent's lockbox. In order to find out the location of the lockbox, you must perform timed interrogations of five opponents. After this, you piece together the clues from the interrogations to decipher the actual location of the lockbox. Once you find it, time must then be taken to crack the safe itself – with its countdown timer reset every time you are hit while trying to open it.

This mode comes in the free 1.03 update, which has not been dated, and includes other multiplayer bug fixes and tweaks.

Our Take:
I like the sound of the interrogations and how it tweaks the normal capture-the-flag mode. Bonus points for not being infection/horde mode related, too.
