The lights are on
Tales of Link, the currently Japan exclusive mobile game in the Tales series, launched a teaser website.
Little is known about the game, other than it is coming to iOS and Android devices in Japan, and it will be free-to-play. Siliconera translated some of the text on the site and it reads, "When disaster falls from the heavens to the earth, hope also springs from the ground."
Our TakeFree-to-play always makes me grimace, especially when I consider how it could be implemented in an RPG. Tales of Vesperia on the Xbox 360 had micro-transactions through Xbox Live that allowed you to purchase money and new levels with Microsoft Points back in 2008, so the studio is certainly familiar with it. I would still like to see the game come to North America.

I'm still waiting for the Japanese to put One piece games on the Xbox 360 so a Japanese phone game will get no love from me. That is all.
gunna be bad
Has nothing to do with Zelda.
This releasing with all the Nintendo stuff makes for a lot of confusion...
They used Zelda's Link name to fool consumers, but they won't fool me!
I love tales games.... that said any game on IOS or Android is automatically bad which really concerns me about the future of gaming.Games that would sell extremely well are going more to IOS and Android making me wonder what's left for real gamers? This news saddens me :(
Well, this could be interesting. As Kyle pointed out, the Tales of games are not exactly treading new grounds if they add micro-transactions for the game. As long as they are for the most part optional though, it could work. I think I got through Vesperia and Graces F without the DLC packs that boosted your characters.
We shall just wait and see what happens......
