[Update] Borderlands 2 GOTY Edition Coming

by Matthew Kato on Aug 27, 2013 at 11:26 AM

Update: Here's further proof that 2K Games and Gearbox are indeed prepping a Game of the Year Edition for Borderlands 2.

An unnamed source sent us along this photo of the same marketing booklet that IGN had.

Original Story:

Borderlands 2 hasn't skimped on the DLC and extra content, and if this report is any indication, anyone who hasn't picked up the game yet will be in for a feast.

IGN has received a picture of a marketing booklet from a GameStop employee [full disclosure: Game Informer is owned by GameStop] that apparently shows off the Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition.

It would include the four major DLC content releases for the title, as well as the Mechromancer pre-order bonus, the raised level cap that comes with the Ultimate Vault Hunter Pack, and more.

No price or release date details were given.

Our Take
If this is correct, this GOTY edition packs in a lot of content. I hope that it also, however, includes some new content that would make it more alluring to anyone who hasn't already bought the DLC. Perhaps the already announced T.K. Baha's Bloody Harvest will be included. To anyone who bought the season pass for this game: Do you think you should have waited for something like this all-in-one GOTY edition, or are you happy you got your hands on the content early?
