The lights are on
If you've been holding out on the first chapter of the Halo Reclaimer trilogy, Microsoft wants you to get caught up with Halo 4. The publisher has confirmed that 343's first numbered entry in the series will be getting a game of the year edition this October.
The news was shared by IGN, who received an image of the box art and features. Microsoft then confirmed the news.
The package will include Spartan Ops Season 1, a War Games map pass, the recent Halo 4 Champions bundle, and the digital content previous exclusive to the collector's edition.
More details are coming this Sunday in conjunction with the Halo Global Championship Finals.
Our TakeGame of the year editions provide a shot in the arm for titles. They don't often attract people who already own the original release, instead giving new buyers a reason to give a game another look.
They also aren't terribly expensive to create, since all of the content already exists. A little bit of packaging redesign and some focused communication yields a new wave of sales and, more importantly, a boosted player base to keep existing users engaged. I loved Halo 4 at first, Campaign was phenomenal, Spartan Ops is not even worth it, and the multiplayer has been butchered to sh*t.
I'm curious who's still playing this. More people are playing Reach last I heard. My biggest question though is will it require Gold for Spartan Ops?
Still haven't finished Halo 4.
So can I just purchase the special content separately since I already have the limited edition? I really want the pre-order/console bundle content.
I wish this was a remake for the xbox one
Wish this would go to xbox one. but I have everything here already so this edition does nothing for me.
A lot of halo fans said hated this halo. Anyone know why?
This will be a definite buy for me.
That's an amazing deal, it truly is.
YES. I may just re-new my subscription to Live Gold for this. Didn't get Halo 4 when it came out, but now I will. Now, I eagerly await a Dishonored GOTY edition.
One thing I appreciate in Halo that other FPS games don't do is making the unlockables fair. Basically, I jumped into a Call of Duty match, and was severely underpowered and playing against really good users. I was like "well, any other game at least the equipment is fair." While I realize that the equipment you unlock in Battlefield, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor (etc.) is incentive to play the game, it makes the game unfair. I think unlockables should be things like armor, character skins, or minor tweaks that don't really effect the gameplay that much. Halo 4 went in the direction of Call of Duty a bit in that sense, but it still had weapons strewn across the map for anyone to pick up.
