Reef Entertainment Acquires License To Make Terminator Video Games

by Kyle Hilliard on Aug 25, 2013 at 09:41 AM

The developer behind the not-yet-released Rambo: The Video Game, has acquired another notable '80s film franchise with Terminators, and it plans on making a video game.

Reef is not announcing a video game, but rather announcing that it now has the rights to make Terminator video games. The license appears to only cover games based on the films The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day, as opposed to a video game based on the Terminator universe which are what most Terminator video games past have been based.

Reef's collection of released games is small. It created the Wii port of the game Rogue Trooper, and a Rambo video game is on the way.

Our Take
There certainly could be cool video games based on The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Reef has yet to prove itself as a noteworthy developer, so I don't know if it is the studio to do it, but I admire anyone willing to try.
