The lights are on
GBATemp forum users Smealum and Lobo are hard at work building an original Portal game, Aperture Science, for the DS starring Rattman.
If you're unfamiliar with Portal lore, Rattman is best known as the man who wrote "The cake is lie," all over the walls of Aperture's laboratories. You can learn all about him here.
The duo have managed to create a working build of the game, which you can check out here. You will need a flash cart if you want to check out the game. The build also includes a level editor.

Kudos to the developers for trying. I hope Valve supports it and releases it officially. It'd be a nice send off to the DS.
A Portal AR app would be awesome! I can imagine placing portals all over the place.
Aye, and there's actually a similar (but abandoned) project for PSP -- Quartal. I advise looking it on ModDB, you can get the source code and what work they had done at the time, apparently.
Well, if they can get this approved by valve, then maybe they can put this on the eShop.
This is awesome.
I wish the best to this team. If they're endeavors show polish, Valve may even adopt this and rebuild it in the Portal engine for our consumption on Steam.
That was pretty impressive. There might be some bit of flaws but hey, they're still working on this.
This makes me wish this game should be made for Vita, RIGHT NOW!!
That looks amazing! I guess I shall have to get a flash cart.
