The lights are on
College student Dan Borenstein has been tinkering with assorted Oculus powered simulations, and his latest experiment involved suspending himself in the air to play SkyDIEiving, an Oculus Rift skydiving simulator.
You can check out the video below to see Borenstein doing his best to retain his lunch while simulating the act of skydiving.
Borenstein spoke with VentureBeat about the project and said, "It’s an awesome experience. I can’t say I would want to do a long session of gaming, but in terms of immersion, this is fun." Borenstein said that he has always been interested in skydiving, but is scared to actually jump out of plane.

Cool...I guess?
I'm pretty excited for the Oculus, and I love how creative people are getting with it. The Rift, the 8-way treadmill, and some Battlefield 4 would be pretty awesome. Especially if it was mandatory. You'd definitely know who the fat kids were!
Drive to work? How about Oculus-ing to work?! Genius!
At first glance I thought that screenshot showed Skyloft.
This sounds like the #1 way to give someone a heart-attack.
Man, that's dedication to pushing new technology.
One does not simply simulate skydiving
Interesting concept haha.
Science.
That is awesome. I want to do that.
Maybe.
Not that I ever wish bad on anyone, but if that demo went seriously wrong, he would've won this year's Darwin Award, for sure.
That student is suspended.
It's like he's walking on sunshine.
"Forward unto victory, let's get in that hole!" Without seeing the video I wasn't sure this was skydiving.
