The lights are on
At EA's Gamescom 2013 press conference, the publisher announced that the Battlefield 4 beta will begin in early October 2013. Additionally, we have new details on Battlefield 4 Premium. Those that buy the $50 season pass will get five expansions and a number of other perks. The map packs have been named and dated:
Additionally, players will receive early access to the new content (two weeks), priority queueing on servers, 12 bonus battlepacks (which seem like the bundles of gear in Mass Effect 3's online mode) that include knives, dog tags, gun attachments, camoflauge, and XP boosts. The Battlefield 4 beta will be exclusive for the first three days to Battlefield 3 Premium members, those that pre-ordered Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe Edition, owners of Medal of Honor: Warfighter Digital Deluxe Edition, and owners of Medal of Honor: Warfighter Limited Edition.Battlefield 4 will launch on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 29, 2013. Next-generation versions are planned, with the Xbox One version confirmed for that platform's launch.

*** yeahh battlefield is the best, i got the 'premium' bf3 thing like 6 months ago on sale, glad to know i get beta access for 4
Can't wait to get this. It may be the first mainline BF game (aka, not Bad Company) I buy for a console because of the graphical requirements, but I am totally buying this thing.
Well hey since they are already setting up every single dlc pack and the game isn't out yet, maybe this will give them time to pull an awesome fan service move and deliver a bonus dinosaur mode.
Interested in this, but I'm not paying anything to try the beta. I'll just make a blind leap of faith on a next-gen version.
Here goes another 120 dollars on Battlefield!
Ahh, how I love betas so. Bring on October!
The only reason MoHW was worth the money was because of the beta access. But now i find that i can play it because i'm a premium member! GOD DANGIT! I wasted $60 on that POS game!!
Has anyone else noticed that all the dlc will be available at least by summer next year?! It's a good thing, yes, but it's odd since they really sprawled the dlc out with BF3. It's almost as if they're making way for another installment by Fall 2014? But surely not....EA wouldn't lie to us and go back one their word about making this an annual installment. Surely not. Not EA. I must be thinking of another company that always changes their mind on the consumer. No, wait. It's EA.
What happened to the beta being exclusive to owners of Medal of Honor Warfighter? Now that game was a complete waste. I also see that EA is still charging for all five expansions with the season pass even though China Rising is free.
