The lights are on
It probably won't apply to a lot of you, but if you happen to buy one of a selected handful of games on your PS3 and then want to get the PS4 copy of that same game, Sony and its partners are going to make it worth your while.
During its Gamescom press conference, Sony announced that for cross-generational games like Call of Duty: Ghosts, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and Battlefield 4, if you buy the PS3 version, for a limited time Sony will let you buy the digital PS4 version for a "significantly discounted price."
The company didn't say how much or for how long, and other details will be revealed in the future.
[Note: The story was edited to say it's the digital PS4 version.]

should be free, but i'm not purchasing CoD or AC4 for ps3...why, when i'm getting the ps4, unless i get double the trophies, but who cares...i want next-gen and i want it now!!!!
Eh, it seems pretty pointless, but that's pretty cool I guess.
That's cool for people who will do this.
I remember laughing at this part of the conference because Andrew House kept building it up like he was going to say "FREE!". Then he anti-climatically said "at a special discounted price!", lol still, this is cool for people unsure about which version to purchase.
ehh why not just ..ya know , buy the 'newer' version instead in the 1st place
define "significantly discounted price."
I'm betting 70% off
I'm switching from 360 to PS4. So it won't work for me :(
