The lights are on
At Sony's Gamescom conference today, a price drop for the Vita and memory cards was announced.
The PlayStation Vita will now cost $200 and 200 euros. Sony also confirmed plans to price drop its Vita memory cards.
This is great news for those who were on the fence about buying the handheld, and even better for those looking to upgrade their storage space, especially with more options to buy games digitally.
Is this enough to finally make you splurge on a Vita? Let us know in the comments below!

This is great news! too bad I already bought one and a memory card. Now how about some games. Borderlands 2 is a nice try, but I want games I can't get elsewhere.
Definitely later, but its a definite yes. I can't wait to own a vita and play games on a portable device that plays games better than my laptops A10 APU.
I just don't have time for handheld gaming...rare situations where I take my 3DS or PSP anywhere - flights, trains, extended car trips - and when I'm at home, I have a console backlog to slog through and would rather work on that vice my handhelds, so the price drop, while great for my fellow gamers, does nothing for me personally.
I'm not mad at 'em for it. Got mine on launch and am fine with having paid $50 more.
This is the non-3g version right? I may get it...still seems a little pricey for a handheld (although I shouldn't be talking cuz I got the 3DS when it was $250...). I may get it now, especially cause I just really want Gravity Rush so bad.
Wow! That's great!
The Sony show yesterday makes Vita a no brainer for a soon to be PS4 owner like myself.
Besides just getting a bit cheaper, the big thing I am excited about is the ability to go to my Vita when my fiance wants the TV for her shows. I LOVE THAT! I only have two questions: Will FFXIV work the way AC4 did? Cause if so, and I can play my MMO from my Vita anywhere in the house when Big Brother is on, that'd make my household stress free! :)
Second question, will someone be able to use the bluray function of the PS4 to watch a bluray while I drive a downloaded(non-disc) PS4 game on Vita? I know that's a lot to ask of a system, but it's a fair question I'm curious about.
Nah. Still no reason to get one. The 3DS has way better games.
i sold one awhile ago but i would like to own one with a ps4
Well it's about time. Lets see how the games for Vita like Arkham Origins Blackgate performs.
Finally. This was inevitable. Now provide more value for the device and you'll win a good number of new sales, Sony.
I cant wait to get Killzone mercs and a 32 gig mem card
how much for the cards? Tell me!!
I still don't know if I should get the vita or the 3DS
It's about time...
