PlayStation 4 Release Details Coming Next Week
Next week, Gamescom will begin in Cologne, Germany, and it appears that Sony will be announcing a release date for the PlayStation 4.
In a post on the European PlayStation blog, Sony says that on August 20 at 6:00 pm BST on August 20 it will hold a briefing for media where it will share, "release plans for PlayStation 4, as well as updates on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita."

Our Take
It will be entertaining to see how Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will compete for a release date in November. It's unclear when Xbox One's release date will be revealed, but this seems like a pretty strong indicator that Sony will reveal the PlayStation 4's very soon. When the PlayStation 3 and Wii launched, their release dates were only about a few days apart. I bet the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will have a comparable gap.
