The lights are on
As reality TV continues its effort to produce shows on
literally everything that human beings do ever on Earth, cosplay gets its
SyFy's Heroes of Cosplay will air its first episode tonight
at 10:30/9:30 Central p.m. You can watch the first trailer for the show below.
Our Take:A former colleague of mine, Meagan Marie (now with Square
Enix) is deeply involved in cosplay and I can attest to the amount of time and
effort that she puts into creating her costumes. However, I'm guessing this
show is going to largely follow the formula of focusing on the squabbling
between contestant and drama rather than the hobby itself. I'm sure at least
one of these cosplayers, likely whoever is a complete sociopath, will soon be a
star on Talk Soup. For a better look at cosplay, check out some of the CosBlogs
that Meagan has posted on our site.

This is just so sad..
I saw this while I was trying to find out if my new DVR had AMC or The Walking Dead anywhere and recorded the series out of morbid curiosity. If my cosplayer friends are any indication, bitches gon' be crazy.
Just watched 10 minutes of it. (That was all I could stand). Yup. My earlier comment was validated. sigh... this could have been a cool show.
I watched it tonight and was impressed by how much work goes into Cosplaying, personally I thought they focused too much on pumping up drama among the characters but my friends who Cosplay have told me that the show does capture what it's like for them most of the time. Either way, I'm going to keep watching!
Ahhhh more reality shows. That usually means more TV for me to avoid outside of Investigation Discovery.
The cosplayer in the picture as Scarlet Witch is Yaya Han if I'm not mistaken
It was more about the bickering and gossip of the players than it was about the costumes. It was only worth it in the end when you could see the results. The costumes were great! Shame about the show.
