Weekend Warrior 8/9/13

by Brian Albert on Aug 09, 2013 at 02:00 PM

This is going to be a great weekend. Tim is making duck puns and playing Dark Souls. Many of us plan to eat grilled meats. Dan, apparently a man of few words, is consuming the only three things his body can process. What about you? Let us know what you're playing in the comments below!

Tim Turi: This weekend I need to really quack, err, I mean crack down on playing DuckTales for review. Besides that, I’m planning on giving Dark Souls another shot with our masochistic intern Brian Albert. Though, since he’s sitting down and guiding me through the punishing world of Dark Souls, I guess this makes him a sadist. I’m hoping he can show me what everyone sees in the game that I’m missing.

Kyle Hilliard: I’m still playing EarthBound and having a fantastic time. It’s funny how a nearly 20-year-old game is pulling me away from Pikmin 3, which released less than a week ago. Otherwise, it’s a pretty typical weekend. There may be some barbeque in there.

Mike Futter: Deep Silver has told me that I am most certainly allowed to let you know that I am playing Saints Row IV. I am most definitely playing Saints Row IV. MOST DEFINITELY. I'll also be working my way through more of the Injustice STAR Labs missions and playing around with Martian Manhunter. I want to give Pikmin 1 another try, since Jeff Cork has implied that my failure to enjoy it so far means that I took my childhood wonder out back and buried it next to the apple tree. I'll also be working through some more of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath on my Vita for a game club podcast with friends.

Last, but not least, I hope to receive my LEGO CUUSOO Back to the Future DeLorean this weekend. If so, expect a blog post soon with pictures of the in-progress fumbling.

Dan Ryckert: Wrestling, beer, BBQ.

Jeff Marchiafava: I’m dogsitting for my parents this weekend, so the game I’m going to play the most is “try to keep dogs from pooping in the house.” I’ve played it before, and it’s not very fun. Additionally, I’ll probably play more indie PC games on my laptop and a super-secret review game that I can’t say anything more about.

Ben Hanson: This weekend I hope to continue playing Brothers: A Tale of Tatooine or whatever. I'm sick of 505 Games publishing all of these artsy fartsy titles! Really though, it is an odd and solid game. Support something different; give it a try. Outside of that, I'll probably continue to die repeatedly with Rymdkapsel on iOS. It's an odd combination of an RTS, tower defense, and Tetris game. If I have time, I feel obligated to finish State of Decay even though the storyline is my least favorite part of that game. Have a good weekend!
