The lights are on
Remakes of classic titles like Castle of Illusion and DuckTales are right around the corner. These two titles follow in the footsteps of other fan-favorites that have been remastered for the downloadable market. A plethora of old-school games await fancy new coats of paint, but which would you like to be updated next?
High-definition remakes are great, whether your old favorites are being spruced up or a title you always wanted to play is being enhanced. I would like a Toejam & Earl remake with gorgeous hand-drawn characters and colorful worlds like seen in DuckTales: Remastered. The game's roguelike qualities, great music, and co-op gameplay could do well with a face-lift.
What 8-, 16-, or 32-bit game would you like to see remade?
Email the author Tim Turi, or follow on Twitter, and Game Informer.
Tales of Phantasia. There was a part of that game where I got stuck, merely because I couldn't tell what a certain object was supposed to look like, due to the poor 16-bit model. But that could just be me...
Also, I know it was remade for the PSP, but I never owned one, nor do I plan to.
Mega Man II. For me it's the best game in the series. I'd love to see it in HD with some remixed music.
kid chameleon...golden axe..batman 8bit nes version...a real ninja gaiden retro.. axelay.. chip n dale ...james buster douglas knockout boxing....and first.. ALTERED BEAST
Mutant league football
Ghosts and goblins and chrono trigger
A Link's Awakening remake would be awesome.
None. Some games you just shouldn't touch.
Blaster Master... Tanks and 3rd person action/rpg could be sweet!
Megaman 1-6 but same gameplay
Aladdin from the SNES! Please, it just has to be done!
Psychonauts.... and Jade Empire! =-D
Metal Warriors, Captain Commando and what was the name of tha beat them up! game with kamen raider and gundam crossover?, well that one too.
I think the original Legend of Zelda would be great with a fresh coat of paint and a little more story context in the game.
I'd be happy with HD remakes of the Legacy of Kain series (minus the block puzzles), Legend of Legaia, Mega Man X-X6,Chrono Cross, Skies of Arcadia, Rouge Galaxy, Darkwing Duck (gameboy version), Jet Force Gemini, and Shinobi 3.
Legend of Dragoon and Road Rash. I know LoD was made by Sony, but I'd love to see it remade and released on all consoles. I loved the Addition combat system, even though a few (I'm looking at you Lavitz and Albert) were next to impossible. I loved fighting other riders in Road Rash. Using chains and clubs to take out opponents was one of the best things about it and would make for excellent MP action.
Mario, Gears of War, and Uncharted. But seriously? I'd say Earthbound, Gunstar Heroes, and maybe a Mega Man collection in HD. Good stuff.
