Two New Professor Layton Games Still On Track For Next Year

by Matthew Kato on Aug 07, 2013 at 04:31 AM

At today's Nintendo Direct transmission, the company re-iterated that both Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy (shown) and Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney are still on track for the 3DS.

Both games are out already in Japan and scheduled to come out in the U.S. for the 3DS some undisclosed time next year.

Azran Legacy is the last of the series' second trilogy, while Layton vs. Ace Attorney is naturally a team-up between Layton creator Level-5 and Ace Attorney's Capcom melding the two franchises' gameplay styles.

Our Take
Layton games usually take a while to come out over here after their initial release in Japan, but in the case of Layton vs. Ace Attorney, that game has been a long time coming since its initial announcement in 2010. The good news is, however, that now that the 3DS' installed base has grown, even more people will get to play these games.
