The lights are on
As summer winds down, PlayStation Plus is heating up with four new free titles for PlayStation 3 and two for Vita. Things kick off with Hitman: Absolution tomorrow.
The rest of August brings an assortment of titles in a variety of genres. In addition to IO Interactive's latest installment of Agent 47's story, the following titles will be available later in the month:
Additionally, there are some solid discounts for a number of Rayman titles.

Our TakePlayStation Plus continues to be a fantastic value, and this month's Instant Collection offerings are fantastic. The Rayman discounts are equally impressive (though it's odd that the Vita version of Origins is still more expensive than the PS3 edition). All of that is to say that you should play Rayman Origins however you can manage it. It's that good.

Rayman Origins IS a very good game. Play it if you can.
Those are some great games offered this month! I bought Hitman and Runner2 on their respective release dates, both are fantastic. Also, Rayman Origins for 5 bucks? Hell yeah! I'll get that!
Say what you want about everything, PS plus is the only good service out there for gamers.
Wow, Hitman Absolution? That's an amazing deal.
Just another reason why PS is better than xbox.
1 month=price of full year.
Rayman titles! Buying all of them.
Yep. Dollar per dollar PS+ spanks Xbox Live. Also with PS4 getting party chat (which does not even need PS+!!!)there is no difference now between the two.....except one is actually worth paying $40-$50 a year for all the money you save. I know some say Xbox Live is a better online experience. Let me tell you when I play Black Ops 2 online with either system I see absolutely no difference what so ever outside of live having party chat. Yes PSN probably sucked monkey balls to begin with (from what I gather from others experiences) but now since I bought my PS3 2 years ago, I can say with 100% fact, my time online with PSN was the same as my 6 years of Xbox Live when playing online "games". Sony has changed the PSN alot since the beginning. I believe the PS4 PSN will close any gap that was left between the two services. Now it's just sit back and reap the rewards of two companies duking it out to try and out do the others online "gaming" services.
Damn, I need PS+ again, and a new PS3 along with it.
I'm becoming increasingly intrigued by the Rayman series. Unfortunately, all my money was just spent on Pikmin 3. Even a price as inconsequential as $5.00 could be beyond my reach this time.
well ... i guess its been a good idea i held off on buying runner 2 ( was planning on getting it for wii u )
Two things i wish i had more of: time and hard drive space. Should have gone 1tb vs 500gb. Should have married a sugar momma for time to play all these games.
thank you mike futter for posting stories like these. It helps me to see which games i can get for free.
A Decent list for August. Just more games to fill up my HDD!
Aww, and I bought Hitman from the XBL sale. Oh well, it was only like $8. Otherwise looking forward to the new Bit.trip entry and possibly the Star Wars Pinball game. And probably gonna buy Rayman 2 Revolution. Whoo!
If Sony makes the download/install process smoother and faster with PS4, and actually does give away full PS4 games with plus (I have my doubts that we'll see anything other than PSN and heavily crippled PS4 titles), then I'll be getting a PS4 sooner rather than later. I love the valus Plus adds, but it's a beating downloading these huge files, as it essentially locks down the PS3 for hours at a time.
Downloading in the background is useless if doing anything with the PS3 pauses the download. Add to that the obscenely long installation times (for Hitman, it took almost an hour just to install), and actually downloading the titles offered becomes much less appealing.
I still do it, because, free games, but I've certainly gotten more choosy about which games I download (though I still initiate the download to get the game "purchased" so it's mine if I ever want it).
