The lights are on
During this year's QuakeCon, id Software co-founder Tim Willits said that Rage was not meant to be a one-off experience.
Speaking with Joystiq, Willits didn't announce any formal plans for a Rage sequel, but assured that the franchise has not been abandoned.
"I'm proud of what we did, I'm proud of the universe that we built. The franchise is not dead. We're not doing anything immediately with it, but when I designed the universe, I designed it in such a way that it would be easy to step back into. I'm still proud that we did something that was different – it wasn't like the games that we've done in the past."

Our TakeIn our review for the game, Andrew Reiner described the game's story and ending this way:
"Just when it seems this story might produce a meaty plot thread, the game ends unexpectedly with no major confrontation or sense of victory leading up to it. The best comparison I can think of is if Star Wars ended with Obi-Wan lowering the Death Star’s tractor beam. Roll credits."
The story and world proved to be the game's most disappointing aspect, and as such, we certainly wouldn't complain about id giving it another go. There's more that can happen in Rage's world, and after the first game's disappointing ending, we wouldn't mind diving back in.

Awesome. We need more tube running fps games!
my best friend's step-aunt makes $63 an hour on the laptop. She has been fired for nine months but last month her paycheck was $13671 just working on the laptop for a few hours. Read more here WWW.ZEN45.COM
Game was awesome. Ending was a load COD.
Reiner gave the game a 9/10 to clarify.
I would love to see the game become a series.
I thought the gunplay in Rage was great. The other aspects like texture loading, racing, and story could use a fair bit of work. If those are improved, then Rage 2 will be a definite buy from me.
I really likes RAGE and would like to see more of the universe.
Just picked this title up from Kmart for 15 bucks...just about 20 mins into and its a pretty decent game so far
RAGE was pretty good if you forget about the ending. I would want id to have another go at it.
It's a very good game it's just when I finish playing (after an hour or so) I don't really feel the need to pick it up again when I come back later and it stays un-played for months on end.
good news everyone!
maybe just for me. i am part of the hate train for the ending. but for serious dude that game was amazing. i put around 20 hours into it which from what i hear is a bunch for one play through. id love a sequel
I never got a chance to play Rage. I thought I remember someone saying the graphics were amazing.
I really enjoyed Rage, enough to play through it twice. I have always assumed there would be a sequel, I would be disappointed if there wasn't one. The world they built was too cool for just one game. I'd like the next one to be a little more open world, but if it isn't that's fine too I'll still buy it.
Yeah I always felt like some one was like "guys we are out of time" and they were like "screw it, ship it anyway, maybe no one will finish it."
Dissapointing game. Awesome frame rate though. Looked perty.
