The lights are on
Update: The podcast referenced in the original story is now live. As we reported earlier, the GPU speed has been increased from 800 MHz to 853 MHz, the Xbox One has entered internal hardware beta, and the operating system is currently being polished.

This morning will reportedly see some news regarding the Xbox One hardware. Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hryb (better known as Major Nelson), will be releasing a podcast with Xbox chief product officer Marc Whitten detailing changes to the Xbox One's GPU.
The Xbox One will have a custom AMD GPU that is supposedly similar to the Radeon HD 7790 (according to Digital Foundry). According to a GameSpot Japan report (since removed, but cached via Google) Microsoft has upped the GPU speed by 53 MHz since E3, which actually increases the speed to 853 MHz (from 800 MHz). Additionally, the design team has rebuilt the graphics driver to optimize performance.
Internal beta for the Xbox One hardware is currently running, and the operating system is being tweaked with new builds on an almost daily basis.
We've reached out to Microsoft for comment and confirmation.

Our TakeAny hardware upgrade is good news, as more power and speed available to developers down the line means a longer life for the hardware.

Microsoft is trying so hard to catch up with the PS4 and try to justify their 500 price. Is not easy selling a console for 500 when the competition have it for 400 and is more powerful. What is alarming is all the changes that Microsoft is doing in their console at this stage, 4 months until release. This could bring many problems and flaws to their system.
But......... they still need time to make few millions of consoles till launch? How's that "beta for the Xbox One hardware is currently running" O_o
Pretty cool. I'm glad they keep making improvements.
love it, any upgrade is always welcome
the intro for the next RED RING OF DEATH sounds like.
This is like a Steam Summer Sale, but for Xbox One news!
probably going to hurt the launch window...
