The lights are on
CD Projekt, developer of the Witcher series, made its Witcher 2 DLC free of charge. After a recent interview with Examiner, it looks like we might see the same deal for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
"We could sell extra content to gamers down the road, but we don't believe in that," said game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. "Only something really big, and something that will not make you feel ripped off, justifies a price tag."
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will release in 2014 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Click the banner below to see all of our exclusive Witcher 3 content.
Our TakeWhile this is clearly good news for the consumer, we're left to wonder exactly what Tomaszkiewicz means by "something really big." We've certainly seen huge add-ons this generation like Oblivion's Shivering Isles DLC, but most tends to be smaller in size and scope.
Good. Too many games try to nickel and dime people with dlc that is made and ANNOUNCED before the game even releases.
Make's me cry to know that CD truly cares. Thank you CD Projekt, just thank you.
I can't wait to get this for the Xbox One!
That is just one of the reasons they are the best devs.
CD Projekt should have a little talk with Capcom... Imma juust saiyan...
glad to see this hit ps4 will be getting
Been a fan of CD Project since Witcher 2, and loved their DLC policies then. They've really been growing into one of my favorite developers.
CD Projekt is just full of very nice people. Can't wait to play the game.
Calling TESIV SI "DLC" is just wrong, it's an expansion. Technically an expansion is DLC but, in my mind at least, "DLC" has come to represent something far less substantial.
Anyway, just another reason to love the guys and gals at CDPR and another reason to fully support everything they do.
