F1 2013 Rides This Fall

by Matthew Kato on Jul 26, 2013 at 06:22 AM

Codemasters has announced the release date and some early information on its F1 2013 game chronicling the pinnacle racing series; including the present season as well as an exploration of F1's past.

The game comes out for PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360 on October 8.

Apart from the normal range of enhancements from last year's edition, the game returns to cover the real-life 2013 season as well as give fans the chance to race classic cars, tracks, and drivers in the sport's history via the F1 Classics mode.

Codemasters is releasing an F1 2013: Classic Edition of the game that includes content from the 1990s as well as more classic tracks. This content will also be available to buy via two DLC packs.

For a first look at an early, work-in-progress build of the game, check out Rosso-Ferrari driver Daniel Ricciardo tackle the Hungaroring circuit at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Offering some excellent play-by-play in the video is Anthony Davidson, former F1 driver and technical consultant on the game. Our Take
Codemasters has slowly broadened out the F1 series since taking over the license. Hopefully Classics mode can become a destination for those looking for more than just a season recap.
