The lights are on
It can be tough to reach the conclusion of a game. After all, we've been working up to that very moment. Sometimes we walk away satisfied, other times we're disappointed.
As someone who has felt both feelings, I always wonder what endings others think hit it out of the park. Irrational Games' BioShock series has been the most consistent delivering the types of endings I want. I love when I think about an ending well after I've beat a game. It's hard to deny that endings are becoming more and more important to us. The Mass Effect 3 ending left many fans fighting for something more, which led to DLC for more clarification.
As games start telling deeper stories, we're more attached to characters and tuned into what's happening in the story arc. The ending is the last thing we have to hold on to about a game. How many of you right after you finished The Last of Us went an discussed the ending with someone? The need to analyze and reflect on these moments are part of why our Spoiled! videos have become so popular. Discussing the end lets us put the game in perspective and evaluate if it's effective. Endings can be so wildly debated that it's fascinating to see a plethora of opinions on what games people felt got it right.
What games feature some of your favorite endings? Why do you like them so much?
Note: If you're going to discuss spoilers, please put a big spoiler alert before you go into detail. After all, you just might entice someone to try out a game they never considered before, and who wants to be spoiled on something you consider one of the best finales?

All of the Assassin's Creed endings are epic, Mass Effect endings, The Walking Dead, Arkham City, Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite, Red Dead Redemption (Full Remember My Family Ending)
sly 3 was satisfying, assassin's creed ones are over the top though
Halo 3. By far my favorite ending to any video game ever. I still tear up every time I hear that theme, every time I hear the Arbiter command his Elites to "Take us home!" and every time I see the Master Chief seal himself in the cryo tube... I... I... *sob* *sob*
Bioshock Infinite is mine simply because after I finished it I stared at my tv (without blinking) for at least ten minutes and red dead redemption is my 2nd because it was just a great ending to a great game
BioShock Infinite, Heavy Rain, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, BioShock, BioShock 2, Second Sight, The Walking Dead (Telltale), and Portal 2. Think that about sums it all up.
Halo 4, Red Dead Redemption, Kingdom Hearts, Batman: Arkham City, and Monkey Island 2 are all that come to mind, though I'm sure there are more I am forgetting.
Infamous 2. Both the good and bad endings made me cry. Especially that, "Half as long. Twice as bright."
ive played games since NES i have alot of favorite ending but surprizingly one of themCall of duty black ops i loved the whole aspect that your actully brainwashed and imagined things in the missions you did
Well, Bioshock Infinite has the best ending in recent memory, but I thoroughly enjoyed the expanded endings for Mass Effect 3.
The best ending ever is Link impaling Ganon in the skull during the conclusion of Wind Waker. The additional scenes about Hyrule ending up like Atlantis was awesome.
I [ersonally think Bioshock Infinite's ending is overrated.
When I think of great endings, these are the ones that come to mind (although I'm sure some are missing):
Tomb Raider (2013)
Dragon Age: Origins
Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII
Shadow of the Colossus
I like endings where things get crazier in a way that you can feel the ending coming. Like in Dark Souls after placing the Lordvessel...
Bioshock Infinite, Bioshock 1, Bioshock 2, The Last of Us, and FF 7.
ME2, its just something to behold.
Well, I've put over 600+ hours into "Fallout Vegas" and it's DLC.... I loved every play through and I kept every follower alive on "HardCore Mode" right up to the end. I liked hearing all their stories and seeing just how much the waste can shift. I wanted a Independent Vegas, but as most of you know. Between helping your followers and becoming a "Karma" based go to guy. The game may take a second play-through before you get the ending your looking for. Along with all the other factions mentioned in the wastes.... Anyways, "Fallout Vegas" is still my favorite single player title to date!!! ^_^
