The lights are on
Only the first Mega Man Game Boy game is currently available on the 3DS Virtual Console, but Capcom is planning to expand that roster significantly.
Capcom has announced the Game Boy versions of Mega Man 2, 3, 4, and 5 are all planned for release on the Virtual Console. The Game Boy Color's Mega Man Xtreme and Xtreme 2 are also on the way.
Capcom doesn't have a release date to announce, but we should see them soon.

Our TakeI am a huge Mega Man X fan, so the chance to play the Xtreme games is very exciting. I have played all of the X games extensively, but was never able to check out the Xtreme games. I have strangely specific memories of learning about the Xtreme games in the early days of my Internet experiences and depressingly resigned myself to the fact that I would never get to play them. I don't know why I assumed I would never play them. It might have had something to do with the Blockbuster up the street from my house that never had either of the games available for rent. If only I knew then what I know now.

i remember literally draining packs of batteries at a time playing megaman xtreme 2
Played through Mega Man X for the first time a while ago, and really enjoyed it...now I need some more MMX action! I might check out those Xtreme games, but I would really love to see some more of the main MMX games on the VC.
Always good news for the blue bomber.
The 3DS just keeps getting better and better.
I've played both Xtreme games, and V. V is definitely one of the best in any Mega Man series. It's too bad it's Super GameBoy border will not be available.
YESSSS! I was wondering when they were going to release this game for the 3DS or PS Vita. Oh I was referring to Megaman X-treme 1 and 2. I love the X-series especially X-4,X-5 and X-6.
I will NOT buy any Virtual Console games on the 3DS until they allow us to change the button layout like the Super Game Boy did. It's far too uncomfortable to play the way they make you.
The prices are also way too high for such old games.
