The lights are on
Update: Ubisoft sent over some additional photos to add to our virtual tour that includes cameos from actors Aaron Eckhart, Julie Benz, and Jennifer Morrison. You can check out the additional photos in the gallery below.
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is all about pirates, so Ubisoft
brought a real life pirate ship to Comic Con to show off the game's
multiplayer. Come take a photo tour with us.
Our tour begins on the street. Ubisoft plastered the sidewalks across town with ads for the ship
And here it is, Edward Kenway's Jackdaw, docked right behind the San Diego Convention Center
Another angle on this beautiful boat
A Despicable Me 2 blimp hovers ominously in the sky
Let's go onboard. The Jackdaw is usually the Maritime Museum of San Diego, which tourists can visit to learn about the history of pirates.
Ubisoft covered up a bunch of that silly historical info and spread out some art and other details about Black Flag. We assume those are real historical fans
The cargo hold has been cleared out and Ubisoft is pumping video of Assassin's Creed on the side of the wall. Also, the cargo hold is very red
Black Beard is kind of like Edward Kenway's mentor, but it looks like his ship was really small
You can also play Watch Dogs and Splinter Cell on the boat...if you're here at the show
Also, try taking a nap in the captain's quarters, and then get yelled at by the museum's staff
Gamers check out Black Flag's multiplayer modes. Read more on that here
You can meet the Ubisoft team. Here's Ubisoft's resident block of wood, Raphael Lacoste
If you feel brave grab one of these real life historical weapons and try them out before getting arrested
You can also dress up like a pirate and have your picture taken.
There you go. After touring Ubisoft's pirate ship you pretty much know everything there is to know about Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag!
Something cool is always happening in San Diego during Comic Con. Remember the real life Wreck It Ralph cabinet from last year? If not, check it out here.

It's not an official AC experience until it freezes every 20 seconds. Joking aside, this is a pretty interesting way of marketing.
That picture with Edward and Blackbeard got me thinking...
Ubisoft said that Edward's "a pirate trained by assassins", so I was assuming there would be some form of an Assassin Brotherhood in the Caribbean. But in this image Blackbeard has the signature red cloth belt that all assassin's have, so that could mean he's part of the assassins as well. Or maybe he just likes the look =P
That was cool that Ubisoft had a ship to promote AC4. Looking forward to a great AC.
Now this is what I call excellent marketing!
Say what you want about the series, bringing your own pirate ship is pretty badass.
That is awesome
Ubisofts resident block of wood is pulling the strings at the company.
Say what you will about the series, this is a hilariously fun way to market the game.
One of the hidden "development" costs. I know advertising is important.. but jeez.
Looks small and awkward.
Some shall have booths, and some shall have boats.
That's really cool.
i think imo this will be the best assassins creed ever just because of the open world sea addition lol
If you feel brave grab one of these real life historical weapons and try them out before getting arrested.
Seems to me you're just itchin' for a lawsuit, GI. I can just read it in a news story now..."But the GI website told me to try it!"
