The lights are on
Vanguard Games and 343 Industries made an announcement today that is great for those of us who have terrible patience. Halo: Spartan Assault, Microsoft's new top-down arcade shooter for Windows 8 mobile devices, will be launching today at 4 pm Pacific.
The game centers around Halo 4’s Sarah Palmer and the origins of the Spartan Ops program. The story itself slides in between the events of Halo 3 and Halo 4. Players who blow through all 25 missions will be able to gain experience points and unlockable Spartan emblems for their Halo 4 game.
Read our preview of the game for more details. If you have a Windows 8 device, you can go download the game today for only $6.99.

looks great just wish that it comes out on android and apple too
A twin stick shooter on a platform without sticks, featuring an annoying, immature, stereotyped main character, working on an operating system that I can't stand?!?!? Where do I buy this?!?! /sarcasm -_-
Getting this for my 820. Finally a Halo experience on the go. Hope its good :)
Man, from the comments it sounds like iOS and Android have everyone by the balls. I've got a W8 phone and I'm not sure what the complaints are about but it runs pretty damn slick.
I'll be grabbing this later tonight and giving it a shot. Also, for people talking about waiting for a price drop; really? Skip your McDonald's lunch today and it's paid for.
I can't believe this isn't getting a review. Well, I sure am giving it one!
So I take it I'll be able to play this on my laptop through a click based interface right???
