The lights are on
In response to fan inquiries on Twitter, Street Fighter series executive producer Yoshinori Ono apologized and said that there are no plans to bring the game to Wii U, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One.
Ultra Street Fighter IV was announced during this weekend's EVO Tournament. It will be available early next year, and will add new characters and stages as DLC, or you can buy the game at retail with all of Street Fighter IV's previous DLC included on the disc. Head here to see the announcement trailer.

Our TakeIt's disappointing, but not surprising to learn that Ultra Street Fighter IV won't be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As we journey into the next-generation, it might be time to start thinking about Street Fighter V. However, not appearing on the Wii U seems like it could be a bit of a missed opportunity. It would be a nice treat for Wii U owners who are waiting for Smash Bros. to have a quality fighting game on the console. Also, as fighting games get closer and closer to the world of spectator sports, it seems like there could be some interesting innovations to experiment with having an extra screen. Maybe the player could play on the GamePad, while television viewers could have full 360 degree camera control to watch the match, or something along those lines. It makes you wonder if Capcom felt burned by releasing a 3DS version of Street Fighter IV at launch.

Good. I want Street Fighter 5.
Another blow to the wiiU....and lol @frostysphincter
wii u gets no love
Surprising. I would have thought that it would have sold on all of the platforms. Seems like Capcom is spread thin these days. They aren't even considering Streetfighter V at the moment.
Hilarious!! Of course not! This will release on PS3 and X360 only. Capcom will get some sales because no one is going to wait for the PS4, WiiU or XBone releases since Capcom says there won't be a release for those next gen consoles. As soon as the PS4 and XBone release we'll see an article saying SF4Ultra will be released on the next gen consoles early 2014 making hardcore adopters buy it again!
Can they stop releasing the same game over and over? Whats next? Ultra Super Street Fighter IV Turbo Arcade? I bought the first Street Fighter IV and felt completely burned when not too long after they came out with Super Street Fighter IV.
Not surprising. I wouldn't be shocked if a new, numbered entry is being worked on for cross gen.
What he means to say is that they won't be offering it on next-gen consoles until after they reach their sales goals on current gen consoles. Then they will announce the next gen version and cash in yet again!
