Nineteen-Year-Old Creates Massive Skyrim Mod As Bethesda Job Application
Ambition will get you far, and 19-year-old Alexander J. Velicky has put his to good use. The Skyrim fan has poured approximately 2,000 hours into his Falskaar mod in hopes of landing a job at Bethesda.
Velicky's Falskaar mod boasts 25 hours of content, unique quests, a huge dungeon that takes an hour or two to best, and unique audio. The voice acting was handled via an audition process, with 29 actors in 54 roles. The score by Adamm Khuevrr is original also and can be heard on YouTube along with a bonus track heard in the gameplay trailer composed by Julian Shanahan.
Velicky had the help of family, with his father supporting his work. The young designer was allowed to work full-time on the project, living rent-free with his father.

Our Take
Users have reported that Falskaar is good. Very good. Bethesda should absolutely pay attention to the quality of the mod, the unique voice acting and an original score, and the detail work on books similar to those that litter the original game.
As significant though is the way in which Velicky approached this endeavor. He used the mod tools as a training tool, devoting an average of 38 hours or so each week. It isn't hyperbole to consider his work on Falskaar a full-time job. Here's hoping we see Velicky's name in the credits of the next Elder Scrolls or Fallout title.
