The lights are on
Some of the high-profile gaming-oriented Kickstarter
projects are on the horizon. Which one are you desperately waiting for?
In the last few
years, Kickstarter has become a big part of the gaming industry, as numerous
developers look to their fans to fund projects instead of a traditional
publisher model. Look no further than our Kickstarter Compendium for just a
sampling of the games being built through crowd funding. While there's no doubt
that utilizing Kickstarter has been a successful approach for many game makers,
the gaming community continues to wait to find out how most of these projects
will turn out.
A few well known Kickstarters, like the Ouya, or games like
FTL: Faster Than Light and Star Command, have already released. However, some of the most highly funded gameson Kickstarter have yet to see the light of
day, and it remains to be seen how good those games will be. With next week's
release of Shadowrun Returns, we thought it was a good time to ask about which
games you're looking forward to.
Games like Double Fine's Broken Age, inXile's Wasteland 2
and Torment: Tides of Numenera, Obsidian's
Project Eternity, Hex, Star Citizen, and Shovel Knight are
just some of the big success stories. Which game is top on your list to watch?
Whether you helped fund the game or not, are there any Kickstarted games you'll
buy on the day they come out?

I'd say Star Citizen, but Project Eternity and Shadowrun Returns got me pretty excited, too.
Torn between Republique and Ancient Dystopia.
I am a huge supporter of Broken Age. I donated to Double Fine the day it was announced and am patiently waiting, even with the delays.
LA Game Space w/ Keita Takahashi
I'm very eagerly awaiting the loss of my social life once Shadowrun Returns is available and Hex. Also have Planet Explorers to contend with as well...
Project Eternity. Obsidian is a great developer and we haven't had a classic style isometric RPG in a very long time.
I'm really excited for A Hat in Time. gonna be so fun!
I may buy Shadowrun Returns. Everything else I know too little of or do not care. Have not funded any of these titles and probably will not.
As a backer, I'm pretty excited about Tides of Numenera. That said, I'm also quite excited to see how Wasteland 2 and Shadowrun turn out, and hopeful but worried about Broken Age. Of course, this could just be another big bubble, but let's hope for the best, eh?
All of the new IE rpg's look awesome l, especially project eternity.
since I know that it is being released, shadowrun returns
C-Wars, for sure. One of the main reasons I'm looking at buying a Vita.
