The lights are on
At Capcom's panel at Evo 2013, the publisher announced that five new characters are coming to Street Fighter IV, as well as six new stages, and balance updates in the form of DLC.
The DLC will be $15, and will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Familiar characters Rolento, Elena, Hugo, and Poison will be available to add to the game, as well as a fifth new not-yet-revealed character.

Our TakeStreet Fighter IV released back in 2009, meaning the game is four years old, and it sounds like it might hit five by the time this DLC releases. Most games wouldn't still be receiving support so long after release, but in many ways Street Fighter IV isn't a typical game. Capcom knows players are still hopelessly addicted to the game, and it's rewarding long-term players for their perseverance.

I'm really surprised that they've got another update coming out so late in the games life cycle. Hopefully its a rewarding one for long-term players.
Isn't GI aware that SF is still the most popular fighting game right now? also many fans are guessing that Haggar will be the fifth DLC character.
2009-2013 Hmmmph! Seriously, It will make those who traded it pissed the heck off, and others say D@mn I want that game. When I started seeing games being bought in the hundreds of millions in 24 hours I was like "Good grief!!"
Street Fighter IV Turbo Arcade Hyper Super Mega Action version
Hey Capcom... This game also came out for 3DS and I would only buy this DLC for 3DS so... please make it happen.
capcom needs to get their *** together too. these characters arent new, their just being put into an old game in a new fashion, one that people are playing less and less. im not buying this.
As popular as it is, Street Fighter is the one fighting game franchise I've never been able to get into. I like Soul Caliber, I like Virtua Fighter, Dead or Alive, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, but for some reason there's just something about Street Fighter that never gelled with me.
Nice to see Capcom's still supporting the game though, I'm sure it will be a pleasant surprise for all of the game's fans.
If you look at the picture of Hugo, on one of the skyscrapers in the back, you can see someone on top of it. could that be Haggar?
this might have me,pick it up again!love the support capcom, this is how its done, this is how it should be.
You cannot believe how surprised I was to find out Poison is a guy.
the announced this to about 95% of the people who are actually going to care and buy it, smart move.
I'm so happy.
They are releasing these characters because most of the work has already been done. These 4 characters are in Street Fighter x Tekken so they already had the majority of the assets such as models, animations, and moves finished. They just had to adapt them for the Street Fighter 4 engine and balance them. Smart move by Capcom in my opinion.
I love the Street fighter series and would be willing to further support the game for $15 but is a bit steep considering the game is at least four years old. I hope in time Capcom can offer some in game content either for free or via an unlockable feature withing the game.
Pretty late to be releasing new DLC, isn't it? It's a little pricey, but it has the content. Other games would offer 4 maps or 3 characters for that price, so 5 characters and 6 stages isn't too bad. I would think balance updates would be patched in, rather than bought... This is a very competitive game, everyone needs a fair playing field.
I won't mind buying this, as long as it doesn't get a hyper edition retail release. I really thought I was safe buying Arcade Edition...
