Report: Level 5 Wants To Make More Professor Layton Games

by Kyle Hilliard on Jul 13, 2013 at 05:56 AM

It's not too surprising to learn that Level 5 wants to make more Layton games, until you consider the conclusive nature of the upcoming Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy.

When Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy was confirmed for North America during a Nintendo Direct presentation in April, Nintendo's Bill Trinen said of Azran that, "The conclusion of the second Layton saga is a major gaming event you won't want to miss."

The game came out in Japan in February this year, and it has been unclear whether there would be another core entry in the series. At the recent Japan expo earlier this month Level 5 president Akihiro Hino said that the studio does not want the series to conclude, and it wants to make more Layton games.

Our Take
It's no surprise to learn that we haven't heard the last of Professor Layton and Luke. What I would really like to know more about, though, is Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, which still has no announced plans for release in North America. When will that game receive localization?
