Killzone: Shadow Fall Lead Actors Revealed

by Matt Akers on Jul 09, 2013 at 10:47 AM

On its official PlayStation blog today, Sony revealed that David Harewood and Jamie Gray Hyder will take on the two lead roles for Guerilla’s upcoming shooter Killzone: Shadow Fall. Shadow Fall is set to release for PlayStation 4 this winter.

Harewood, best known for playing David Estes on the Showtime series Homeland, will take on the role of Sinclair, director of the Vektan Security Agency. Echo, an intelligence operative for the Helghast, will be played by Hyder, who gained attention as the werewolf Danielle in HBO’s True Blood

Our Take
One of the few grievances directed at recent Killzone games has been a somewhat uninspired approach to narrative. While a strong story certainly isn't the norm for high-action shooters like Killzone and Call of Duty, it will be interesting to see if and how Shadow Fall turns that standard on its head. The investment in moderately big names like Harewood and Hyder might be an indicator that Guerilla games has given cinematic quality a greater priority in its upcoming game.
