The lights are on
RPG fans are in for a treat. If you register both Shin Megami Tensei IV and Fire Emblem: Awakening to your Club Nintendo account, you get $30 credit for the Nintendo eShop.
The deal starts on July 16 (SMT IV's release date) and ends on August 31 and is eligible for fans located in the U.S. and Canada. This money can be put toward any Nintendo 3DS eShop item. You can also purchase both titles at any time and register them before August 31 for the credit. Digital and retail both count toward the offer as well.
So, what are you going to do with that $30? Spend it on more RPGs, right?
Check back to our site this week for a review of Shin Megami Tensei IV. In the mean time, check out our Fire Emblem: Awakening review if you're on the fence.

Our TakeThis is a great perk for RPG fans, since both of these releases are popular for the hardcore crowd. Awakening hit in February and was a great welcome back for the series, giving Nintendo incentive to bring future entries over. Shin Megami Tensei IV is the long-awaited entry in the mainline SMT arc (we haven't seen a release since 2004's Nocturne). Both of these purchases are no-brainers for dedicated RPG fans; it almost feels fans are being rewarded for giving love to their favorite genre. Not to mention $30 can go a long way on the Nintendo eShop. The promotion is a great incentive to bring fans in who haven't had the chance to purchase both titles while also rewarding those who already have.

Always wanted to get in to the SMT series, this is my chance! Aswell as Megaman 1-4
getting my SMTIV... but YEAH!
Cool. I bought Fire Embleme: Awakening the other day and I'm hopelessly addicted to it so far. May just need to think about getting SMTIV now.
This brought me great joy.
If you own a 3DS, there's really no reason to be on the fence about FE:A. It's a fantastic game, the best on the system in my opinion. I'm still putting hours into that one, and I plan on putting quite a few more in.
This is great for me since I can purchase all the DLC for both games with this ^_^. Also it's great to bring attention to SMTxFE which we'll probably hear more about soon. The setting has pretty much been spoiled already as far as it's time frame
I was on the fence about both titles, but i guess i have no excuse now.
Very good, I was on the fence for club Nintendo, but this decides it.
I may or may not have gotten Fire Emblem Friday, and it may or may not have been due to this news.
