The lights are on
Major Nelson announced details for Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade this morning, which included a list of titles with their prices and release dates. Summer of Arcade is an annual XBLA promotion that typically marks the release of four or five new games.
Those who purchase at least two Summer of Arcade 2013 titles will receive a free in-game Soul Pack for Ascend: Hand of Kul.
The full lineup with details is below:
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons – August 7 – 1,200 MS points ($15)
Charlie Murder – August 14 – 800 MS points ($10)
Flashback – August 21 – 800 MS points ($10)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows – August 28 – 1,200 MS points ($15)
Take a look at the Summer of Arcade trailer released last month during E3 here.
Our TakeThis is Microsoft’s sixth consecutive year holding its Summer of Arcade promotion (known as Winter of Arcade in the southern hemisphere). It kicks off nearly a month later than last year. In terms of highly anticipated titles, this lineup isn't quite as strong as we've seen in the past.
The Summer of Arcade promotion has typically come with a discount for purchasing multiple games in the form of returned MS points. The fact that this year’s bonus comes in the form of an in-game item pack is somewhat exclusionary for those who don’t own or want to play Ascend: Hand of Kul.

Weak sauce M$. In my opinion State of Decay should have been one of them. At this point we now know UL could have used the extra time to iron out the kinks. That may have saved this boring ass SoA.
It's just now starting? Summer is past half-way over Microsoft.
Looking forward to Charlie Murder. After all, it's being made by the same people who made The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai.
I took advantage of it.
I might get brothers if it reviews well. Not real excited about it though.
Wtf. I have to wait for TMNT until summers over?! I'm so disappointed I'm literally going to throw up. :(
Charlie Murder and Flashback for sure. The new TMNT... ehhh.
Looks like a few neat titles.
I'm quite looking forward to TMNT. Sucks that it won't be out for another month on PS3...I guess it will let me know if it is going to be worth it or not.
The new TMNT game looks pretty damn nice. Definitely going to download it if I'm not too busy completing other games that I abandoned awhile ago.
I saw these sales! Not too shabby but I like to be able to resell my games.
