The lights are on
GameStop has stopped taking store pre-orders for the PlayStation 4 due to high demand.
Late last month, GameTrailers published an internal GameStop memo telling employees that the company would be taking unlimited pre-orders for PS4 systems until further notice. Apparently that time has come. A spokesperson for GameStop has issued the following statement to us:
"Due to high demand for the system, GameStop is not currently taking additional store reservations for the PlayStation 4."
The spokesperson also stated that online reservations would be available "while supplies last," but since then GameStop's website has been updated to say that the console is currently sold out. Interested users can submit their email addresses to learn when reservations are available again.

Our TakeWhile the demand for PlayStation 4s is bad for gamers who haven't pre-ordered yet, it is certainly good news for Sony. The leaked memo from last month stated that Sony made the call for taking unlimited pre-orders, so clearly the company felt confident in its ability to provide a high volume of systems for launch. That the demand is even greater than the company anticipated is the best kind of problem Sony could hope for at this point, and one that Microsoft surely hopes to replicate.

I´ll just wait some years and when the price drops I´ll get one for exclusives, till then I´ll stick with my equally powerful pc x)
According to my gamestop's manager, they've done this 3 times already. I went in to preorder today and he told me they'd stopped, but it was pretty likely they'd open up again. He told me that they keep preorders open for how many they've already produced, so they're most likely going to open them back up as they make more.
That blows, I was waiting to preorder because I was sure that Gamestop would still have some left.
Although I'm faithful to my PS3, I've gotta wait after the PS4 releases and hear how consumers and critics respond. I'm definitely all in for InFamous: Second Son, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Watch Dogs, and Dying Light but I want to wait until I know I'm gonna want to spend $400 around launch or wait a year for when it goes down.
ill wait it out...
preorders dont matter much
Good news for me, had mine pre-ordered right after they announced it was going to be $400. Really excited about this launch, can't wait.
