The lights are on
For the extended Fourth of July weekend, the Game Informer crew is going to kill fungus zombies, eat unhealthy food, and escape into the wilderness.
Jeff Marchiafava: With The Last of Us
finally in the rearview mirror (though I won’t be forgetting its remarkable
story and gameplay anytime soon), I have moved onto another post-apocalyptic
zombie game, State of Decay. The transition between the two games hasn’t been
the easiest; State of Decay lacks polish in virtually every area that matters,
but I still love the core concepts. When I’m not trying to survive the zombie
Armageddon, I’ll be away from the television, grilling food and enjoying the
weather – it is the Fourth of July weekend after all.
Kyle Hilliard: I’ll be heading to a
lake with my family to give my daughter her first taste of a body of water
larger than a bathtub. Other than that, I will be focusing all of my gaming
attention on Picross e, now that I’ve finished The Last of Us.
Mike Futter: I
am bound and determined to finish up The Last of Us before I depart into the
Internet-free wilderness for a little while. I'll be taking my portable devices
with me and, while I haven't decided exactly what I'll be playing yet, top
contenders include finishing Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, Hotline Miami,
Project X Zone, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, 999, and (finally) starting Persona
4 Golden. I'll also be playing Magic: the Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers
2014 and checking out Might and Magic: Duel of Champions.
Ben Hanson: This weekend I'm going to take a break from The
Last of Us and State of Decay and enjoy the great outdoors. And by that I mean
playing Animal Crossing in the shade. I might play some more Scurvy Scallywags
on my iPhone or iPad to shake things up, but I think I will be more consumed by
swimming and playing ping pong or whatever. Enjoy your Fourth of July!
Ben Reeves: I'll be wining and dining my life away this weekend.
Wining on fine Mountain Dew, and dining on the finest frozen pizza money can
buy. After I've prepped myself for a mid-life heart attack, I'll be playing
through the new Deadpool game. The explosions I'm most concerned about this weekend,
are the ones that will be happening on my TV screen. I also started a
playthrough of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, which I'd
like to finish up, and my hunger for The Last of Us hasn't subsided after
beating it, so I might start up a new game+.
Matt Kato: I'm excited to jump into The Walking Dead: 400
Days even though I'm not much of a DLC guy. I'm very curious how the episodic
nature of the DLC's five characters comes across and that it ties with the
second season. I've also been going through The Last of Us and loving it, so a
great deal of my time will be consumed with that. I find myself going through
times in the that game where I'm more looking forward to what's next rather
than the area I'm in, but I haven't found an area yet where I'm just plain
bored. That's not insignificant for a game its size.
Kim Wallace: My goal is to finally
complete The Last of Us. Every week someone finishes and tells me how much they
need to discuss the ending with me. So now I’m set on making it happen. Other
than that, I’m working on some games for review and going to veg out. I need my
What are your gaming plans for the holiday? Let us know in the comments below!
IF, and that's a big IF, I get to play, I'll be working on Last of Us or trying the new 400 Days.
Minecraft, Darksiders II, maybe some Web of Shadows, possibly some BK:Nuts & Bolts. May even revisit some old Gamecube faves, Like Ty and Scaler.
Sounds like quite a fine holiday. It'll probably be raining here, so I might have to forego the fireworks and drinks in favor of some gaming instead. Oh darn. ;-)
Max Payne 3 due to the Xbox Sale.
The Last Of Us! Love this freaking game!
I am away on vacation(Disney) so I'm celebrating with my family. When I get back, I want to try and get the walking dead 400 days DLC. Can't wait, but I can wait. I'm having a blast on my vacation with my family. Great times. Happy 4th of July.

Everyone at Game Informer playing a Naughty Dog game and going on about how wonderful it is? Check.
*Sigh* Some things never change.
I for one will be Livestreaming Syndicate (feel free to check my profile if you're interested), and maybe play some more Deus Ex: Human Revolution on either PS3 to unlock trophies or on PC because I prefer playing my friend's PC copy.
I will be going to a barbecue tomorrow, then a firework show that night.I will download the walking dead 400 days come friday.I have another barbecue to go to on sunday. Have a great 4th everyone.
I have to go back to work on Friday and Saturday so I gotta make the most of it tomorrow gaming wise. So I'll be getting all the trophies I can for F1 Race Stars, including DLC (I don't think I can fit in the online ones). Then continue the grind in Sacred 2 (the game is so addicting).
I'm playing the Jak&Daxter collection (Just started Jak 2) May play Far cry 3, and thinking about getting Borderlands 2 for the first time. Still watching Soul Eater, one of the best Animes ever, highly recommended.
Finishing naruto storm 3, and prob starting up bio infinite
