The lights are on
For the extended Fourth of July weekend, the Game Informer crew is going to kill fungus zombies, eat unhealthy food, and escape into the wilderness.
Jeff Marchiafava: With The Last of Us
finally in the rearview mirror (though I won’t be forgetting its remarkable
story and gameplay anytime soon), I have moved onto another post-apocalyptic
zombie game, State of Decay. The transition between the two games hasn’t been
the easiest; State of Decay lacks polish in virtually every area that matters,
but I still love the core concepts. When I’m not trying to survive the zombie
Armageddon, I’ll be away from the television, grilling food and enjoying the
weather – it is the Fourth of July weekend after all.
Kyle Hilliard: I’ll be heading to a
lake with my family to give my daughter her first taste of a body of water
larger than a bathtub. Other than that, I will be focusing all of my gaming
attention on Picross e, now that I’ve finished The Last of Us.
Mike Futter: I
am bound and determined to finish up The Last of Us before I depart into the
Internet-free wilderness for a little while. I'll be taking my portable devices
with me and, while I haven't decided exactly what I'll be playing yet, top
contenders include finishing Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, Hotline Miami,
Project X Zone, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, 999, and (finally) starting Persona
4 Golden. I'll also be playing Magic: the Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers
2014 and checking out Might and Magic: Duel of Champions.
Ben Hanson: This weekend I'm going to take a break from The
Last of Us and State of Decay and enjoy the great outdoors. And by that I mean
playing Animal Crossing in the shade. I might play some more Scurvy Scallywags
on my iPhone or iPad to shake things up, but I think I will be more consumed by
swimming and playing ping pong or whatever. Enjoy your Fourth of July!
Ben Reeves: I'll be wining and dining my life away this weekend.
Wining on fine Mountain Dew, and dining on the finest frozen pizza money can
buy. After I've prepped myself for a mid-life heart attack, I'll be playing
through the new Deadpool game. The explosions I'm most concerned about this weekend,
are the ones that will be happening on my TV screen. I also started a
playthrough of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, which I'd
like to finish up, and my hunger for The Last of Us hasn't subsided after
beating it, so I might start up a new game+.
Matt Kato: I'm excited to jump into The Walking Dead: 400
Days even though I'm not much of a DLC guy. I'm very curious how the episodic
nature of the DLC's five characters comes across and that it ties with the
second season. I've also been going through The Last of Us and loving it, so a
great deal of my time will be consumed with that. I find myself going through
times in the that game where I'm more looking forward to what's next rather
than the area I'm in, but I haven't found an area yet where I'm just plain
bored. That's not insignificant for a game its size.
Kim Wallace: My goal is to finally
complete The Last of Us. Every week someone finishes and tells me how much they
need to discuss the ending with me. So now I’m set on making it happen. Other
than that, I’m working on some games for review and going to veg out. I need my
What are your gaming plans for the holiday? Let us know in the comments below!
Project X Zone, Luigi Mansion: Dark Moon, MH3 Ultimate, The Last of Us, Skyrim and Fallout 3..... Suck on THAT! Hahaa Happy 4th of July, everybody!
ben reeves sounds like my kinda bro, I'll be playing GTA IV and maybe some grid 2 or borderlands 2
Valkyria Chronicles, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Bioshock Infinite and Animal Crossings: New Leaf.
LEGO Lord of the Rings, possibly Witcher 2 and whatever else I pick up on the Ultimate Game Sale.
Besides helping out at a friend's barbeque tomorrow, I will be working through the Tiny Tina dlc with my Siren, and I might try to see Despicable Me 2 if possible.
My bro's B-day is July 4 so he got Tomb Raider and Batman Arkham City. I also beat TLOU so I'm preordering Metal Gear Solid
The last of us and the walking dead DLC.
a little DMC and just rebought mortal kombat and hopefully i'll start a personal super replay of fear effect
I'm going back to finish Ni No Kuni this weekend and also finish Zelda Oracle of Ages. I'm also going to the LA Anime Expo which should be super fun.
Just purchased a Wii U, playing Injustice!
I'll probably go outside and see the fireworks tomorrow and before that event occurs I'll probably play some Borderlands 2, oh damn how I love that game!!!
Saints Row 3: The Full Package
Playing some New Super Mario Bros. U and some retro NES Legend of Zelda.
Finishing up the Firefly "campaign" in The Last Of Us multiplayer, leveling up my Krieg in Borderlands 2, and starting the Walking Dead: 400 days. May also play one of the random games I got from PS+. And I'll probably go see some movie in the theaters. Happy 4th of July everyone.
I'm currently playing Guacamelee and Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time. I'll probably keep playing those. However, I abruptly stopped playing Assassin's Creed 3 awhile ago because I wanted to use my 3 free months of Gamefly. That would be a good game to play today, but I'll have to decide if I'm ready to jump back into that right now.
I hope to beat Ni no Kuni this weekend, or at least before SMTIV comes out. I'll also be playing some NSLU on Wii U, Animal Crossing on 3DS, and perhaps start a New Game+ in The Last of Us. I just bought a new LG HD 3D TV as well (happy birthday to me), so maybe I'll try some PS3 games out in 3D as well.
