The lights are on
For the extended Fourth of July weekend, the Game Informer crew is going to kill fungus zombies, eat unhealthy food, and escape into the wilderness.
Jeff Marchiafava: With The Last of Us
finally in the rearview mirror (though I won’t be forgetting its remarkable
story and gameplay anytime soon), I have moved onto another post-apocalyptic
zombie game, State of Decay. The transition between the two games hasn’t been
the easiest; State of Decay lacks polish in virtually every area that matters,
but I still love the core concepts. When I’m not trying to survive the zombie
Armageddon, I’ll be away from the television, grilling food and enjoying the
weather – it is the Fourth of July weekend after all.
Kyle Hilliard: I’ll be heading to a
lake with my family to give my daughter her first taste of a body of water
larger than a bathtub. Other than that, I will be focusing all of my gaming
attention on Picross e, now that I’ve finished The Last of Us.
Mike Futter: I
am bound and determined to finish up The Last of Us before I depart into the
Internet-free wilderness for a little while. I'll be taking my portable devices
with me and, while I haven't decided exactly what I'll be playing yet, top
contenders include finishing Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, Hotline Miami,
Project X Zone, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, 999, and (finally) starting Persona
4 Golden. I'll also be playing Magic: the Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers
2014 and checking out Might and Magic: Duel of Champions.
Ben Hanson: This weekend I'm going to take a break from The
Last of Us and State of Decay and enjoy the great outdoors. And by that I mean
playing Animal Crossing in the shade. I might play some more Scurvy Scallywags
on my iPhone or iPad to shake things up, but I think I will be more consumed by
swimming and playing ping pong or whatever. Enjoy your Fourth of July!
Ben Reeves: I'll be wining and dining my life away this weekend.
Wining on fine Mountain Dew, and dining on the finest frozen pizza money can
buy. After I've prepped myself for a mid-life heart attack, I'll be playing
through the new Deadpool game. The explosions I'm most concerned about this weekend,
are the ones that will be happening on my TV screen. I also started a
playthrough of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, which I'd
like to finish up, and my hunger for The Last of Us hasn't subsided after
beating it, so I might start up a new game+.
Matt Kato: I'm excited to jump into The Walking Dead: 400
Days even though I'm not much of a DLC guy. I'm very curious how the episodic
nature of the DLC's five characters comes across and that it ties with the
second season. I've also been going through The Last of Us and loving it, so a
great deal of my time will be consumed with that. I find myself going through
times in the that game where I'm more looking forward to what's next rather
than the area I'm in, but I haven't found an area yet where I'm just plain
bored. That's not insignificant for a game its size.
Kim Wallace: My goal is to finally
complete The Last of Us. Every week someone finishes and tells me how much they
need to discuss the ending with me. So now I’m set on making it happen. Other
than that, I’m working on some games for review and going to veg out. I need my
What are your gaming plans for the holiday? Let us know in the comments below!
My wife, my son and myself are all heading way up north to the grandparents for the weekend. Between spending time together and taking our little one to the beach for the first time, I got games on my phone that I enjoy in between those times. I enjoy playing the Zenonia series, and I recently purchased Final Fantasy 3 for my phone as well.
....Still need to get The Last Of Us. I will try like hell to pick that up when I get back home!
just picked up Far Cry 3 because of the XBL sale, so I'll be playing that
ill be focusing on finishing up Max Payne 3.Its getting pretty brutal but its still super fun
to finish kid icarus and start KH3D!
Well I'm in the middle of a family reunion so when I'm not entertaining 44+ people & taking pics for the events we're doing I'll be playing Darksiders, Darksiders 2 & one of my favorite games last gen, Metal Arms: Glitch in the System.
My cousins & I might go to the movies also.
Skyrim, continuing with the various side quests.
Borderland 2 since I bought it yesterday on Xbox's Ultimate summer sale for 10$
I bought a bunch of arcade games before E3 thinking - alright I'll have some games to transfer to my Xbox 1... I am super bummed about them not transferring over. I will be playing those this weekend. Terreria, Pixel Bundle, Poker night 2, Dust, Ilomilo, El Shaddia, quite a few more.
I'll be working, shooting off some fireworks, going to a barbecue, and continue my grueling journey through my The Last of Us Survivor difficulty playthrough with some multiplayer spinkled in between.
Extended weekend, my ass. I work not only tomorrow, but Friday and Saturday as well.
I plan on finishing The Last of Us, plowing through Animal Crossing New Leaf, and live streaming some Rogue Legacy. All in all a pretty chill weekend.
Now that I'm finally completely moved in(only took 4 bloody days in 80 degree weather) I'm going to simply go for a jog to the beach...and then catch up on all the hours that I had intended for playing Skyrim so I can finally see what the dlc is like.
I'm gonna play some yugioh on the dueling network, as well as the new Black Ops and BorderLands DLC.
Last of Us. Maybe Fall of Cybertron or Budokai HD. Maybe nothing because i'm working....
I won't be playing anything because I'll be too busy at RTX!
Just finished up God of War: Chains of Olympus platinum. Now onto Batman: Arkham Asylum, more TLOU, Hotline Miami, and P4G.
