Call Of Duty: Ghosts Pre-Order Earns You A Free Map

by Brian Albert on Jul 01, 2013 at 01:12 PM

The signature spectacle of Call of Duty’s campaign mode is heading to multiplayer. Those who pre-order Call of Duty: Ghosts before it releases on November 5 will receive access to Free Fall, a multiplayer level that reshapes itself as a match progresses.

The map is set in a destroyed skyscraper that has collided with a neighboring building. Destruction is more than eye candy, though. As the building shifts and breaks apart, walking paths and lines of sight will change.

Activision offered Nuke Town 2025 as a pre-order bonus for Black Ops 2, but it received heat from the community after pulling the map from multiplayer circulation. There’s no word yet on whether Free Fall will remain exclusive to customers who pre-ordered Ghosts and if it will be available permanently, or only during scheduled events.

Our Take
This sounds a lot like the “levolution” technology EA showed off in Battlefield 4 at this year’s E3. Regardless, I do like the idea of an ever-changing multiplayer map, especially in objective modes where you need to bring an item back to your base.
