The lights are on
Starting on Monday, you'll notice something new at the bottom of all of our news stories. After you're done reading the facts, you'll have a chance to hear from the author in a new section we're calling "Our Take."
The purpose behind Our Take is to give a bit more context and color without compromising the integrity of the factual reporting. The new section will give Game Informer's editorial staff a chance to contribute additional analysis to all of the day's news.
This won't appear in every piece, just our news stories. Our features, opinion pieces, previews, and reviews won't be affected (they are already full of opinion and analysis). We're eager to hear your feedback as we pilot this new format, so be sure to sound off in the comments.
Email the author Mike Futter, or follow on Google+, Twitter, and Game Informer.
Sounds like a good idea!
A welcome addition, I look forward threading them.
I think this is a great idea.
Great idea, thank you.
that's pretty interesting i guess
I think it sounds great. Looking forward to it.
If other editors - not just the author - have an opportunity to give their take (not in the comments section, which I usually will not sift through totally), that'd be awesome. I actually identify my gaming tastes and personality with a few specific people on GI staff and often wonder how they feel about the news that others report.
sounds like a good idea to me...
I like this idea! But do us all a favor, and keep it non-political whenever possible. I get enough depressing political news from other websites. GIO is supposed to be a refuge from all that.
Really good idea! I only wish it wasn't in italics, because those are a little harder to read for me. But it's no big deal! Keep it up guys.
Huh? There's no "Our Take" after this article. Too bad, would have been funny.
i actually really like it. read a couple stories today and the "our take" on the articles was really nice. its always cool to get the authors opinion a little just to see if what im thinking is remotely close. keep up the good work GI! now all you need is an iphone app that can let me read your stories on the go!!
This is an excellent decision and I'm already appreciating the extra level of context and analysis being given today. Keep up the good work. Thanks!
I think this is a great idea. Can't wait to read.
A return to straight news, with opinion left elsewhere (even if in the same article...) ?
