Watch Star Citizen for 24 Hours

by Brian Albert on Jun 28, 2013 at 08:25 AM

Star Citizen isn't finished yet, but that doesn't mean you can't spend your weekend with it.

Over at the redesigned Roberts Space Industries website, the Star Citizen team is hosting a 24-hour live stream. It began today at 11 AM Central.

The developers plan reveal new content, introduce their website, and host prominent members from the Star Citizen community and the game industry in general.

If you need a refresher on what this open-world space shooter is all about, check out our interview with developer Chris Roberts.

I wanted to invite you to watch the Star Citizen 24 hour live stream today to kick-off the remodeled and new-look RSI website. You can watch all the action at www.robertsspaceindustries.com beginning at 11 AM Central Time, Friday, June 28.

We’ll begin the festivities with a live episode of Wingman’s Hanger, the weekly behind-the-scenes look at what’s going on with the development of Chris Roberts’ Star Citizen space sim game. Then we’ll continue with some announcements about the game including several reveals of new content, an introduction to the new website, some visits from members of our community and several well-known gaming industry luminaries. We’ll have live cameras on for the duration of the 24-hour period from both Cloud Imperium Games offices located in Austin and Santa Monica.

The new and improved RSI website will feature all sorts of new features and will provide an even more robust e-commerce area where fans can upgrade and modify their pledges, purchase add-ons and better manage their account info.

And as a reminder, keep an eye on our running crowd funding total which will be highlighted on the new site. As of Thursday Star Citizen had raised more than $10.9 million in crowd funding.

The live stream will run thru 11 AM Central Time Saturday. Hope you can drop by and watch all the fun and games.
