Total Recoil is a twin-stick shooter coming to the PlayStation Vita that was born of a designer trying to imagine what Call of Duty might look like in an arcade cabinet.

The game only has two rules, according to this posting on the PlayStation blog:

  1. Shoot everything that moves!
  2. Shoot everything that doesn’t!

It seems like there might be a way to consolidate both of those rules into one, but I am not sure how.

It offers the traditional twin-stick shooting and strafing controls, but also allows you to trace missile paths using the Vita's back touch-panel. You can check out the trailer for the game below, which releases July 9.
